1954 Firearrow

GREAT CAR!! this one is most certainly a jewel among concept cars (dream cars). this is another of the wonderful works of Virgil Exner... the Design director of Chrysler during the 50s and 60s.. his down to earth tastefulness in an era of OVER excess helped to assure that cars of the future won't be crazy odd and bizarre UFOs that other makes were doing at the time.

His influence was from elegant and sporty European coupes (most certainly Italian ones) and this is another that was done by Ghia of Turin, as a number of the Chrysler dream cars were back then (along with Pininfarina of Ferrari fame) .

The chassis was that of a 1954 dodge and the exterior was metallic blue with gray full length body molding the interior was medium blue leather with white pleated leather seat inserts and accents. OH MY NICE!! the car could do 143.44 mph at the proving grounds.

This car also had a sister of the same style and year that was a convertible with diagonal checkered interior all leather, only it was bright red and individual adjustable seats.. these are the last two cars of the series of four under the name Firearrow.  The others. being the Roadster 1 and 2..of same year.. 1954, the others were a bit different.. and just as nice! but more sporty or clean lined aerodynamically.. nice cars! very tasteful.

Where at now? don't know, but  like to see them if they are still around.. (would think they are somewhere.)
