Dick Deam Nostalgic Automotive Art |
Words from the Artist:
"I began painting in 1985. Large oils of cars and trucks. I have always loved cars and have owned many collectable cars over the years. Currently my wife drives a 1971 VW convertible and we have a 1955 Cadillac, Coupe de Ville.
My work is fairly realistic but I do not consider it photographic. I generously use color and texture with no attempt to hide the medium. Automotive art is a perfect venue for a die hard "car nut" with limited mechanical aptitude. Oil paint on canvas instead of a wrench and grease on the hands.
Actually I do work on my cars. While I'm working on a painting it is like a restoration project to me. When I finish, I own the car, at least for a while. I love it and no skinned knuckles.
My work has appeared on the cover of OLD CARS Weekly seven times and Jukebox Collector. HOT ROD Magazine also featured the introduction of my "Historic Hot Rod" print."
Rewind The Fifties is more then just a collection of photos and links. Mostly it's about people, and sharing common interests, a chance to promote what is important to those who visit this site.People like Marilyn in the Scrapbook or Terry on the Random Rods Page. Many people have contributed to this site. Once in awhile I like to feature some of "Real" people who take the time to share their hobbies and interests.
Follow the links below and learn about Dick Deam, the artist whose paintings I am proud to feature on this site. Thank You and have Fun.
